Inspiration and Ideas

While on various outings we always go window shopping.

What better way to get ideas on decorating and art for your home then from your favorite destinations.

Mine tends to be mostly coastal inspirations in theme.

A beautiful table display, a living room layout, artwork for your family room wall....

Many ideas come from just window shopping or strolling the town.

Here are some of my most recent inspirations.

While shopping in Sag Harbor, one of the town's best furniture store had this display of a seaside living room. I love the color scheme and art work. The room was simply stated and subtly coastal in feel. Plus it made me want to lounge and read a good book:

In Greenport I was blown away by this store.

It's color palette was exactly what I love and I could have bought

everything inside.....but I didn't.

This art piece represents a jelly fish.....OK.....

But it did speak to me.

Another window that caught my attention.

We always stop to look at the local art.

And I am always drawn to oil paintings in window displays.

This is one of my favorite shops in Sag Harbor and I always stop in to see what is new and exciting.

Sometimes I even buy something!

Another shop in Sag Harbor has a beautiful pale palette and was just lovely

and calm. LOVE IT!

This shop window was in Portsmouth NH.

And next door was a beautiful little art gallery.

We went to an artist opening and purchased an oil painting.

No, not this one. But I LOVED this one too!

I love signs and this shop on Nantucket was just too pretty!

If you want to shop home decor, Nantucket is THE place to go.

Bring lots of money.

There are always little treasures to be found if you just look.

Nantucket is famous for it's baskets.

They are works of art in themselves.

You just need to make sure it is an authentic, Made in Nantucket, basket.

We had fun searching the island for THE PERFECT one for us.

Newport RI is sailboat heaven. Just love the boats displayed in this shop on the wharf.

We have our own version at home in the living room.
