Last Taste of Summer

The Beluga....A Study

On a recent family trip to the Mystic Aquarium,

I had a chance to stop and photograph one of my absolute favorite creatures of the sea...

The Beluga Whale.

I adore watching these gentle creatures...and they seem always very inquisitive of us...

Here is my study of the Mystic Belugas....

I can see why sailors in days past, had mistaken these white whales for mermaids!

Soup's On!

I am a firm believer in SOUP all year long.

I guess I inherited that from my Opa, who insisted on a bowl of home-made soup every day before his midday meal.

So in honor of September, and my Opa, I made a big-ole pot of Potato Soup.

And the kitchen smelled wonderful.

Believe it or not, my little duckies (aka kids)....LOVED our Soup Dinner.

Waning Summer

We have turned the page on the Calendar...

And September is upon us....

Summer has almost slipped away.....

And we are in the midst of shopping for school supplies, getting ready for Fall sports,

and starting school activities.

But Summer is not officially over....

And the days are still very warm.....and still summer-like...

Just never ready to say good-bye to my favorite time of year...
