One Last Thought on Thanksgiving

Nothing says Thanksgiving like Macy's
annual Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Like many Americans we watch it together as a family
And when it is done, and Santa arrives heralding in the Christmas season,
it is off to Thanksgiving dinner with Family.

Remembering Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was barely a week ago.
Naturally I took many many photos of the day.
Sometimes it's the little details that stand out the most.
This is how I remember the day.......
How was your Thanksgiving?

Rockefeller Christmas Tree

Every year New York City starts the Christmas season
with the annual lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas Tree.
But have you ever thought about what it takes to get that huge tree put into place and decorated?
My husband passes it all the time. He took the original photo.
Here is the work in progress.
Time to start decorating!

Clearing the Cobwebs

Thanksgiving turned into a 6 day week-end at my house.
And after days of eating and celebrating....seeing family and friends......
and enjoying family outings...etc.......We needed some fresh crisp air.
A nice long walk on our beach would do the trick.
A time to clear out the cobwebs in the mind......An opportunity to regroup.
Now it's time to go back to work.....lots of Christmas decorating to do....
Some cleaning of course....
AND updating my Blog.
What have you been up to these past few days?

For the Love of Signs

I have always loved signs.
Some are routine and rather boring.
A few, however, are quite fun.
I somehow always manage to photograph the interesting ones.
These few were of particular interest to me.....
Not ones you exactly see everyday.
Have you seen any fun signs lately?
xoxo S.

Carolina Low Country can be quite dangerous....who knew?

Wouldn't dream of swimming in those waters!

But pointing to the sign is OK!

We are a huge fan of the Loggerhead Turtle...so this was exciting to see!

Just in case you needed to know....!

Not totally sure what they want us to do here.....

It's National Nacho Day

Didn't you Know?
Aren't you just about tired of turkey leftovers right about now?
My eldest decided we needed a National Nacho Day....
It falls on the Saturday after Thanksgiving....
Celebrate and Enjoy!
You won't be sorry!!

A Season of (Holiday) Change

While still enjoying those Thanksgiving leftovers......
Start thinking about the Christmas cookies.
You still have a few days to enjoy both!

Thanksgiving Day Parade

It is a tradition.
Thanksgiving Day starts with the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade.
No ifs, ands, or buts about it!
It's tradition and Thanksgiving is all about family traditions.
What are your Thanksgiving Day Traditions?
Happy Thanksgiving!

Late Fall in the City

New York City is beautiful any time of the year.
I particularly like the City in November.
Something very elegant about the trees and skyline and even the taxis.
All in preparation for Thanksgiving tomorrow.

A Norman Rockwell Moment

With Thanksgiving only 2 days away...
I was thinking of last year's celebration.
A perfect family and a perfect turkey!
Yes, doesn't it look just like a Norman Rockwell Moment?
I think so..

Winter Produce

Lemons and Limes.....
Not exactly local.....but abundant.....
Sunshine from the Sunshine State.
We could use that about now.

Written Inspiration

I love reading decorating and lifestyle Magazines.
So many lovely and inspiring photographs.
Even if I am just standing in the store aisle......flipping through the pages......
I am inspired.
What about you?

Birthday Impressions

Some see birthdays as colorful balloons in blue and red.....
and with birthday cakes of flowers and trains.
Recently my brother-in-law celebrated a milestone birthday.
And this is how I saw his birthday.
What do you think?

Mother Nature at her Best

Lately the sky has been quite dramatic...
The beaches have been too.
Mother Nature's gift to us after all the storms we have weathered lately.
Thank-you!

Beacon of a Lighthouse

Not far from my house is a lovely little lighthouse.
A Beacon of Light through dark storms......
Even one such as Super Storm Sandy.

Our lighthouse weathered the storm just fine....
Just like we will.

Veterans Day 2012

It is Veterans Day!
We honor all our Brave Vets...both Past and Present.
We are forever grateful.
And YES, it is a good day also to start decorating for Thanksgiving.
Have Fun!
