Who doesn't love sunflowers?
They are big and showy.
(and I do love anything BIG.....sunflowers, elephant ears...giraffes..I could go on and on.)
Back to sunflowers.
Sunflowers make a statement.
My friend Erin had planted some in her amazing vegetable garden....
And I couldn't wait to photograph them.
They were in various stages of bloom and made an amazing subject.
Sometimes I feel that it is a shame to cut the flowers to bring indoors.
I just love seeing them outside in all their glory.
Don't you love sunflowers too?

Nothing says "August" quite like the sunflower!
I was lucky that this bee was too busy to notice me standing so close to photograph him.
Even when the blooms are done they still look great!
A mini work of art!
No matter the angle.
OK, so this bloom is no longer so lovely...but I somehow liked it still.
I love how the sunlight shines behind this beautiful fluffy sunflower bloom.
Interesting to note the various stages of the sunflower's life in one shot.
A little bit sad...but a little bit wonderful still.
A study of the SUNFLOWER.....
I really enjoy spending time finding interesting ways to photograph a subject...and
this subject gave me great pleasure.
What do YOU think?
xoxo S.
