Gray Skies Today

Maybe it's the gloomy weather and heavy thunderstorms today.......

but it got me thinking about how interesting the sky can be.

I don't mean the cloudless blue skies that brighten the summer (or winter) days.

I mean the cloud-filled skies that can be quite dramatic...

No matter whether it is a beautiful sunny day or a stormy gray one,

the colors of the clouds are quite inspiring.....

I often feel they make a beautiful color palette for the home.

Here are some examples of clouds (and colors) I love.

At the beach last week......not storm clouds....but a nice break from the sun.

Love the blue sky and white clouds surrounded by dark gray ones.

 

South Shore beach day.....it was picture perfect.

 

Evening at a near-by park....again no rain....just dramatic.

 

A glorious beach day....complete with puffy white clouds.

 

Evening sunset. I just love the pink and purple colors against the blue sky.

 

Sea and sky share the same color palette.

 

Now these were storm clouds rolling in. I just love an afternoon storm.

 

And then the storm passes.....this color is stunning.

 

A favorite old oil painting in my home.....I often stop to look at it....the colors are terrific.

 

A print that I love.....especially since it shows more sky than land.

The landscape is lovely too.
