A family tradition carried on from my own childhood is the celebration of St. Nicholas Day....
(Some even say today's Santa Claus is based on the legend of St. Nicholas.)
Every December 6th my sister and I received small little gifts from St. Nick......
Provided we were good of course........
I have carried on this same tradition with my own children.
And they delight in knowing it comes from their German heritage.
