Hurricane Sandy

When Time Stood Still......

 

As you may have noticed I have had few entries the last few days.

That is because Perfect Storm Sandy hit over a week ago.....

And boy did she make her presence known.

Little was spared here........

Streets flooded....Homes destroyed......Trees came down.

Many roads a tangled mess of trees, branches, wires and power poles.

Power is still out in many neighborhoods.

Gas lines are endless.....School for us is still closed.

Many have suffered great losses.

 

I am so very proud of my community and so many communities all around.

Friends, Neighbors, Businesses and Strangers have banded together to help one another.

Hot water, batteries, lights, food, gas and even warmth were shared.

It often felt like camping....meals prepared on the BBQ....heat shared by the fire....dinner eaten by candlelight.

Everyone has suffered to one degree or another.

 

For the past week or so we have lived in our own little bubble......

Only knowing what we see before our own eyes.

A very small and limited perspective....

But in retrospect...it actually made us more aware of your own life...

And how our life fits in with our community.

Yes, for almost a week time has stood still.

And now....as life does.....LIFE GOES ON.....and so does the rebuilding.

 

Thank You to all who have helped their fellow neighbor.

Prayers to all who have suffered and Hopes that everyone lives will be repaired.

And may life get back to normal for all.
